Best Pokemon to defeat Gyarados

Gyrados is one of the hardest Pokemon to get. But getting him is very much worth the effort, as he is one of the strongest non-Legendary Pokemon. Because of this you would usually find Gyrados defending Gyms.

One of the things that makes Gyrados so strong is that it is only weak to 2 types: Rock and Electric. And even then Gyrados could use Water-type attacks to beat any Rock-type Pokemon.

Electric is much more recommended because:

• Above Average stats overall.
• Electric-type attacks are double super effective against Gyrados.

• Basically the same as Raichu, with overall better stats but weaker moveset.

Electrode

• Weak HP, meaning you would need to dodge Gyrados' attacks.
• Electric-type attacks are double super effective against Gyrados.
• Resitant Against Hydro Pump.

Magneton

• Above Average stats overall.
• Electric-type attacks are double super effective against Gyrados.
• Resitant against Gyarados' Dragon-type attacks.

Jolteon

• Moveset is full of Electric-type attacks
• Great overall stats.

Ampharos

• High CP
• Electric-type attacks are double super effective against Gyrados.

Porygon 2

• High Attack stat.
• Can Learn Electric-type attacks.
• Hidden Power and Hyper Beam can also do great damage.
