Where to find Zapdos

Event Period8/15 (Tuesday) - 9/1 (Friday)

Zapdos, one of the three legendary birds of Kanto, is now available to catch for a limited time only!

Time Limit

The time limit for fighting Moltres is 300 seconds (5 minutes). You can try to lower his HP as much as possible during this time. Use revives and potions after you are defeated to quickly get back into the battle!

Tips and strategies

Choosing attack types

Rock Ice

Zapdos has an excellent type combination, being both Electric and Flying-type leaves Zapdos with only 2 weaknesses: Rock and Ice. If you do not have any Pokemon with these attack types, then it would be best to use neutral types against Zapdos. Additionally Zapdos' type combination gives him 5 resistances, so avoid using Grass, Fighting, Flying, Steel and Bug type attacks when fighting Lugia, as he is resistant against these types of attacks.

Choosing Pokemon

All of Zapdos' moves are Electric-type, therefore choosing a pokemon with typing resistant to Electric would be best. Grass and Dragon are all excellent choices when facing Zapdos. Other Electric-type Pokemon also resist Electric-type attacks but using them is not recommended, unless they have attacks with different types.

Raid party

Despite his excellent type combination, Zapdos is actually not that hard to defeat. A party of around 8 people could safely take down Zapdos within the Time Limit. Additionally, 3 high leveled trainers with Pokemon that have Excellent IVs and type advantage would be able to take down Zapdos.
