Moltres, one of the three legendary birds of Kanto, is now available to catch for a limited time only!
Time Limit
The time limit for fighting Moltres is 300 seconds (5 minutes). You can try to lower his HP as much as possible during this time. Use revives and potions after you are defeated to quickly get back into the battle!
Tips and strategies
Choosing attack types
Being a Psychic/Flying type, Moltres is weak to 3 attack types namely: Rock, Water and Electric. Use Pokemon with these types of attacks to gain an advantage during battle. Rock is especially effective against Moltres as it deal with super effective damage to both Fire and Flying types.
Choosing Pokemon
All of Moltres's moves are Fire-type, therefore choosing a pokemon with typing resistant to Fire would be ideal. Rock, Water and Dragon are all excellent choices when facing Moltres, with Rock and Water being extra useful as they can also deal super effective damage. Other Fire type Pokemon also resist Fire type attacks but using them is not recommended, unless they have attacks with different types.
Raid party
Like most Fire types, Moltres is more of an attack oriented Pokemon, dealing large amounts of damage but lacking in defense. This combined with it's double weakness to Rock-type attacks, makes Moltres one of the easiest Legendary Raid Pokemon. All you need is around 7 people, all using Golems with Rock-type attacks, then continuously spam Moltres until it is defeated. It is also possible to defeat Moltres with a minimum of 2 people, but both players need to have 2 teams of Rock-type pokemon with excellent IVs.
